I was wondering if a sugar cookie would look okay with a chocolate fondant flower on top or not. What type would look good together (cookie shape and type of flower would look good together) for a

cookie about 4"
small 3d flower
Christmas theme

any advice would be helpful
TIA

If it's the color contrast you're worried about, we put chocolate icing on vanilla cake all the time and it looks ok. I don't see how this would look bad.

I tend to take the stance of "why CAN'T you do that?" and just go ahead and give it a shot! I think it will look great. thumbs_up.gif

Thank you, your right, I didn't think about it like in cakes. BTW do you have any ideas of what shape cookie and what flower would go good together ( I am not good at all with roses). TIA

I think any shape of cookie would look good, but what about a basic flower shape (like in this bouquet: http://cakecentral.com/modules.php?name=gallery&file=displayimage&pid=1363341 ) then cut out some fondant shapes and build a daisy-type flower like I put on this cake: http://cakecentral.com/modules.php?name=gallery&file=displayimage&pid=1303013 Some of the flowers have 3-layers, some are 2, some are single with a silver dragee for a center. Depending on the cutter size, you could get some variety of sizes put together. For a 3-layer, you could create a color variety by using chocolate fondant for the top and bottom layer, then a lighter colored choc fondant for the center layer (assuming a 3-layer flower, like on the top tier of the cake)

Indy, the blue, yellow and blue daisy flower on the top tier would be perfect for what I want, great idea.
I will make them blue, white and bule. I have the cutters and do some that color and some red, white, and red.
I think I will use the large star cutter and put the daisy in the center. I will make the stars white.
Thank you that helps me out a lot. I want to make Christmas cookies that are different for my family alone with the regular type. Great idea thanks again. icon_biggrin.gifthumbs_up.gif
