My in laws lost their marriage license and will be getting a new one tomorrow. I want to make them a little wedding cake. I just don't know what size will look right.

If I make it 4 & 6", will it look okay? or 4 & 8"? Do I make it 4" high, or will that look off? Also, will such a small cake need dowels?

A lot of questions, I know. Thanks for your help!

I make 4" and 6" cakes all the time and stack them. They turn out great! If you want it to be bigger, than by all means use the 8".

I do put dowels in just to be safe. And I also make my cakes 4" - but again that's up to you.

Thanks so much, it really doesn't matter, I just want it to look proportioned.
