I am working more with fondant. I saw on a TV show where they were making a purse covering it with fondant and they were painting a design on the purse. What type of coloring do you use to paint on fondant? Is it just your basic paste coloring that you use in buttercream? icon_confused.gif

Yes, that's the simplest thing to use. Mix it with vodka or a clear extract to get it thin enough. You can also paint with petal dust or luster dust mixed with vodka. Use a paintbrush that hasn't been used for regular paints, but it doesn't have to be a special cake decorating paintbrush...I use the regular artists paintbrushes because they're better and cheaper than the Wilton paintbrushes.

Ditto above. I mix to the consistency of maple syrup.
