My girlfriend is visiting me all month. She's from Germany and came to America. While here, we decided to make our first fondant cake. Thanks to the forum for all the information available.
Franky was a character we both drew for fun and through him we found each other on the internet:
The cake:
It's like a South Park version of the character.
We discovered how to work fondant. Ours dried too much, and sometimes we were using too much shortening to moisturize, so the flesh dropped off the roller as we got it on the cake, etc. etc.
That stuff is tough! Hopefully our next cake won't be half as hard to make and won't look half as rough. The icing work underneath was very simple to do, since many of you have described troubles with icing and how to solve them.
Not too bad for a first cake only partially designed before executed.
That's pretty neat that you designed a character, made him South Parkish, and then turned him into a fondant cake!
I think he's pretty darn cool!
