Hi all,
I was going to experiment and make the WASC cake tonight and was wondering if raspberry extract would make a raspberry cake rather than an almond flavor. Any thoughts?
Any other flavor/changes to WASC that you use?
Thanks for any ideas!

I've used raspberry instead before. It works just fine. You do end up with pink cake though.

Here's a bunch of variations of WASC that one of the CCers developed:

there are ENDLESS kinds of WASC cake out there now. everything from key lime, to strawberry, to orange dreamsicle, pina colada you dream it you can make it.I creat flavors all the time using the WASC cake as the base recipe and then build from there whatever flavor I want.

you may want to check out the gourmet flavors thread and you will find any kind of WASC idea out there along with the gourmet flavors google doc.

to create different flavors.

you can subsitute the liquid in the recipe with juice, soda, drink mixes, etc.

the sour cream you can subsitue out flavored yogurt, melted icecream.

I also I usually add a pudding packet (dry) NO extra liquid.

and for the extract a flavored extract if needed.
