My daughter wants a strawberry cake and chocolate cake for her birthday. I wanted to layer them, but am having the damndest time figuring out what filling I should use that will taste great with both flavors. please give me some ideas, i think I'm overthinking it all, so I can't decide.

What about using a vanilla custard? It would taste good with both the chocolate and the strawberry

I have used the chocolate version of this recipe, with white and chocolate cakes

Paired with chocolate AND strawberry cakes, it would be divine! Or try the vanilla flavored one. You can use any flavored pudding to get the flavor you need.(strawberry) It is light and yummy, but not as light and airy as a traditional mousse. Good enough to eat by the spoonful! icon_smile.gif
