I am from australia and have searched for a smooth paper towel (viva is not) but am unable to find one.
Can anyone advise me on a particular brand to look for? Am desperate to try this method
Cheers

If you can't find the papertowels there - you could always try the Melvira method.

Or you could just take a piece of computer paper and smooth it that way.

I'll try to find the Melvira link for you.

We dont have the smooth viva towels here in Canada either...but what I do to get a perfectly smooth cake is let my BC crust up and then use a piece of parchment paper and smooth over that using a fondant smoother.

Works like a charm everytime.

Also I have heard others talking about how they use a small foam paint roller.

I have never tried it but some people on CC swear by it!
