Hello fellow CC'ers. I am sure this topic has been asked before but I have not been on here in a while. I have rarely used fondant since my cake decorating class in 2006 and always seem to have some sort of problem when I do use it. Can anyone give me a short tutorial on preparing fondant for use and then the steps after that. Also, can you over-knead fondant and what is the result if you do? Thanks in advance for any help.

The best fondant resource I've ever found is Sugarshack's Flawless Fondant DVD. She takes you through everything step-by-step. I think it's about $25 (If I remember correctly) but it is more than worth it!!

I'll second that. Sugarshacks DVD is great. In the short term, though, there are tutorials on Youtube for how to handle, roll out, and cover a cake with fondant. Many of them a quite good.
