I am making some chocolate cupcakes for my daughter's 1st birthday party and am having trouble deciding on a frosting. I have tried IMBC and it was okay, but it doesn't add anything to the cupcake. If anything it takes away from it b/c it really has great flavor without the icing. I was considering a cream cheese frosting. Any suggestions? Would adding a flavor other than vanilla to the IMBC help, maybe almond? Does almond even go with chocolate?

Chocolate fudge frosting is heavenly in my opinion. Dulce de leche is also really yummy

the flavours i like with choc cake are vanilla, choc, and coffee.
other people like mint, or orange, or rasberry. i dont like almond, but nuts and chocolate are a good combo too.

i would consider just using a glace icing, it is nice and easy, and also, really tasty with a good chocolate cupcake!
(poured fondant is nice too, but i think the glace would be a bit lighter with choc cake)
xx
