I am using the Wilton fondant with gum tex added to make dinosaur figures. For some reason, the fondant is not staying together smoothly in a ball. Any suggestions? Please?

Knead in a little bit of crisco if it's too dry, a little bit of cornstarch if it's too wet.

How do I know if it is too dry or too wet? If it isn't sticking together to roll into a smooth ball, does that mean wet or dry?

If the gumpaste is crumbly, then it's too dry and needs shortening. If it's sticking to your hands so much that it's coming out of the ball shape, then it needs cornstarch.
