I want to try using ganache under my fondant and have not used it on cake before. I was just wondering what kind of cake is taste best on? TIA

I always use chocolate cake under ganache. I think capuccino cake sounds good as well.

Well, I've used white chocolate ganache, milk chocolate ganache, dark chocolate ganache, and a blend of milk and dark chocolate.

I've used all of them on a white cake, and some of them on a chocolate cake. They were all good, but my least favorite was white chocolate on white cake - not enough flavor contrast for me.

But it's all a matter of personal preference and favorite flavor combinations.

I usually make a moist lemon lightly flavored cake, filled and covered with ganache, under the fondant. I love it, and so do everyone until now.
