I did a cake this weekend for a young lady's 21st birthday. A 9 inch, four layer chocolate fudge cake with ganache and raspberry creme' fillings, iced in chocolate buttercream and decorated with lipstick pink fondant circles of different sizes...some also has smaller brown circles, some cut outs, etc. I also added a GP plaque and a large GP rose with bud.
I meant to get a picture but forgot and I already had it boxed when her fiance' came to pick it up. I hadn't put on the lid yet...wanted him to see everything was ok.
He looked at the cake as said it was beautiful.....then asked, "where did you find a roses that looks that good this time of year?" LOL I like to not have convinced him I had made it and that it was edible......I guess that helped to lessen the sticker shock of $100!
It's nice to get such compliments now and then!
