Hello all! Ive got a cake due on Friday, 11-6 and the customer is turning 40. He will be having about 80 guests and is a "Hollywood /Vegas" theme.
His house will be set up like a casino, with a red carpet walking up to the front door.

The cake will be Red Velvet covered in Fondant, with it themed around the event. I wanted to make a 3 tier cake with the top tier looking like the side of a slot machine, with a pull handle sticking out. The 2nd tier would have a opening with coins comning out.

I was thinking of using a couple dowels glued together, and having a piece of styrofoam, ( with cake being on the bottom& top) in the middle of the tier to support the handle.

XXXXXXXX <- - cake
ooooooooo <- - styrofoam, (about 3/4"-1" thick) with the handle
XXXXXXXX <- - cake

Any ideas on how I could make the handle, and also support it, or is it just as simple as maybe sticking a dowel in.

Any help would be appreciated..thx
