I am trying to make chocolate covered oreos right now.
I have done this a hundred times and when I melt my chocolate in the microwave, it comes out smooth and easy to pour.

Right now my chocolate has the look of buttercream - kind of thick and grainy.

Did it seize up on me and can I salvage this?

Please help so I know if I need to run to the store tonight!

Add a little crisco, a teaspoon at a time and heat on very low power. Usually, the additional fat will help unseize it.

Thanks, I tried to salvage it but ended up putting it down the disposal.
Made another batch and it came out perfect - who knows what happened before!

If you microwave it a few seconds too long, it can do that. It seems like the better the chocolate, the more tempermental it is.
