i am attempting to make a cake with a gold chain, "rapper style" on it. so it will be a linked chain, and as the focal point my friends name.
i was thinking of piping out in royal icing and then painting on some liquified gold dust, my problem is I'm unsure of how to make the chain. I was thinking I could maybe make the chain links out of twizzler pull and peel maybe.. does anyone know if the liquified gold dust will stick to that?

I know I can just experiment and figure it out, but i wondered if anyone had any ideas on making this.
thanks in advance icon_biggrin.gif

I would just use fondant! you'd be able to mold it however you'd like and then paint it with the luster dust using a little bit of vodka or clear vanilla and mix it into a paint. I don't know how well it would adhere to the twizzlers though
