Anyone have tips on how to make a Yankee stadium cake? I've never done a stadium cake and I'm not sure where to start.

Thanks!

I think Nordicware makes a stadium pan. I know some company does (or did).
If you don't want to look for that, how about making a BIG, tall, round cake and just carving out the inside of the stadium? Check out pictures of the stadium on the Yankees website, and decorate away!

GO, YANKEES!!!!!!

one possible solution.

sheet cake for field (green)

more sheets cut and stacked to get bleechers (blue, grey, yellow)

cake boards = dark black lines (internal support dowels not shown)

for upper deck will need skewers as support for overhang (dotted gray line)

adjust all layers and layouts for your stadium

You could also buy styrofoam wreaths at the craft store or cut the shape out of sheets of styrofoam (hollow it out), the field would actually be your cake and then put the styrofoam on top, put some dowels/skewers through it to hold in on the cake and decorate it like the stadium.(there is a Cardianls stadium in my photos that we've done this on)

Another solution is Rice Crispy Treats for the Stadium walls.

I've attempted two stadium cakes so far (Shea Stadium--Let's go Mets)--the first one I used several layers of 10" rounds and then I carved out the middle and did the inside and the outside of the stadium--that was fun and came out pretty good

The second one, I left the rounds whole and just decorated the outside and put baseball stuff on top--baseball hat, pennant, scoreboard--you could put a bag of peanuts, a baseball...I got that idea from Cakegirls.
