I need some advice... QUICK!! My mom is making a wedding cake for a friend's daughter... the wedding is tonight! She used the roller method to smooth her BC and now she has the "elephant skin" crap in her icing... what can she do to fix this on the fly?

Thanks for your help!! thumbs_up.gif

either scrape it off and do it over, or just add another layer of icing. I get that once in awhile and I add the layer. What happened is she waited too long after it crusted to run the roller.

I agree with debi. I think the icing probably crusted too much before trying to smooth it, or perhaps it is settling quite a bit. Unfortunately I dont think there is much you can do to fix it except re-do it or live with it.
