I am still a newbie, but I baked 2 cakes this morning. but when I went to tort and fill them they seemed very wet on the outside of the cake. What I need to know is there a way to get it to dry? I don't have time to bake them again because they are dur tomorrow. Any help would be appericated. TIA

Did you let them cool sufficiently? Wet on the outside...were they baked through?

if they didn't sink in the middle upon cooling they're probably cooked through (might not be a bad idea to torte the cake just in case so you can check it out).......but if you're talking about just the topside being kinda sticky, it's probably because you have a lot of humidity today. this happens to me often, by the time you ice it nobody will ever know. Generally I use that stickiness to my advantage and put that side of the cake to the bottom of the board and it keeps it in place nicely and keeps it from sliding around on the cake board.
