hello!

I have an order for a "hockey bag" sculpted cake and the team colour for the bag is black. As the birthday girl does not like chocolate (gasp), I'm thinking of buying and using pre-made black fondant. Has anyone else tried this at all? I was looking for your thoughts on using this, and if it somehow tastes funny or different than regular white fondant. If anyone has a different idea, I'm more than open to it!

Thank you! icon_biggrin.gif

I always use Satin Ice black fondant - I don't think that it tastes different at all.... makes life so much easier!

I usually make all of my own fondant...except black or red, then it is Satin Ice all the way, I hate trying to make black, even with chocolate fondant. I don't find the taste a problem, it is actually a very pleasant vanilla flavor.

Satin ice black fondant is nice tasting and will save you soooooo much time and effort! I think Fondariffic has their vanilla buttercream fondant available in black too.
