I am new to this website but have been doing cakes for about a year. I find that when I paint on cakes and even when I airbrush them, they tend to look wet. Why is this and how can I prevent this look? I'm using Wilton food color and Americolor airbrush color. Thanks! icon_smile.gif

I've never really painted with airbrush colors other than with gold and silver but with the gel colors, they will tend to dry with a shine. If you want to eliminate the shine, I suggest you use petal dust dilluted in alcohol--or maybe, just maybe the gel will dry out fine if you added enough alcohol.
