Ok I got a call tonight from an upset bride who's bakery "lost" her order for a grooms cake. I agreed to do it for a wedding this Saturday. The kicker is that she wants it in the shape of the upper peninsula (Michigan) which is no trouble. I need your help though. For some reason my creativity is not flowing tonight and I need help thinking of what to do with this cake. I know I will carve it to match the upper peninsula, but keeping it merely frosted seems unappealing to me. By the way it is a suprise cake and so I have no input from the groom. Any ideas out there?

we don't need a hand -- we know where we are

(joke on how lower MI uses left hand to tell where they live)

he finally found a hand! -- HERS! (ditto on joke)

Maybe hearts with their names and the city marked of the wedding? (If getting married in MI)....maybe some wires with hearts or stars or something related popping out of the cake???
