What Would You Use To Carve This?

Hey guys -

For all the carving I've done, I actually haven't had to carve a uniform regular shape yet, and am now considering a football-shaped cake (3D). Supposing I want about 20 servings out of the end product, 1) what size would you start with, and 2) what shape, since I would like a rounded finish to the top. Ugh! I might just break down and get a football pan if this is what I end up going with.

Thanks for your insight!

-Emi.

I think I would buy the football cake pan and make two to stick together for a "whole" football. I have the pan and have made a cake in it. Works great! thumbs_up.gif
