Question for ya - I'm making gumpaste flowers and they are dark red so I needed to airbrush them to get that deep color. They are going on a (sugar shack) bc cake later this month and although the stems will be into straws or flower picks there will be parts of the petals touching the cake's BC. Do I need to worry about color bleeding a lot into the BC or do you think I'll be ok?

I'll steam them to set the color but am still worried about bleed out.

I've also considered having melted red candy melts to paint onto any area of the petal that is going to hit the cake - whatcha think??

As long as the airbrushed roses are well dried I don't think you'll have any problems(I haven't). You could glaze the edges too with confectioner's glaze if you are still worried but really there shouldn't be any problems especially if you use a crusting buttercream!
