I am making my inlaws 25th anniversary cake and I have never used fresh flowers on a cake. I am thinking that I am just doing buttercream, no fondant, so do you have to do anything special to the flowers? Wrap the stems or anything? I was thinking of using gerbers or maybe some roses...again not too sure yet!

Any help would be much appreciated! Not sure how to put on, what you have to do differently etc...

First make sur that whatever flowers you use don't have pesticides on them, then if your flowers have stems that you're not going to cut off put them into straws then push this into the cake or you can put the straw in first then the flowers. If you just want to put a bunch on top then place a piece of clear plastic between the flowers and the cake.
