shape the acorn-nut into the approximate shape using and oak-y brown GP. (add a little red or orange) Make the caps in a slightly lighter shade. For the texture on the caps roll the shape gently on a fine sieve. Use petal dust or airbrush for more depth.
I might even steam the nut (but not the cap) to get a nice sheen.
