what icing are you trying to make gold? what effect do you want?
an airbrush works best.
or else use alcohol to mix with lustre dust and paint on top of yellow icing.
or you can dry dust, which is less intense, but still good, depending on the look you want.

I would use yellow and ivory, if you're looking for a non-metallic color. If you're looking for metallic gold, use luster dust or airbrush color, painted on the surface rather than mixed in. You can use the airbrush colors with a paintbrush too, if you don't have an airbrush.

No, I don't have an area that sells Americolor and I don't have time to order it, but I will try the yellow and ivory and make it work that way. I will post picks of the roses later. Thanks for the suggestions!
