Hi All,

Hoping you can help. I am making an oval fall flower themed cake (using the Wilton class 2 oval pans). I am making sunflowers, mums, and roses. I am stuck on a smallish flower (think violet or apple blossom sized) to use as a bit of filler in and around the larger flowers. I will use leaves to fill in the gaps but not sure of an actual fall flower that I could use that is smaller.

Any suggestions would be super duper appreciated!!

Thanks!!

Alexis

depending on how many you want, what bout using acorns?
Or what about doing little fall colored (red, yellow, green marbled) leaves

Or what about pussy willow.....not sure if you're doing gumpaste flowers or buttercream.

Thanks for the ideas. I am using royal icing for the flowers. I just made a couple of small acorns with color flow.

I made this cake last Thanksgiving - it's all the Wilton Course 2 flowers in fall colours. Maybe it'll give you an idea or two.

So sweet of you to attach the picture for me icon_smile.gif I've made a few roses, wish mine looked like yours. I hadn't thought of yellow daises. They look great. I will add them to my list.

Thanks!!

Well it didn't turn out out exactly as I had planned (when does it?? lol), but my MIL loved it.

It was an hour drive to their house and murphy's law there was a bunch of construction with very bumpy roads and it is a twisty turn-y drive anyway. I kept saying to my DH 'slow down we have cake on board'. Thankfully the cake made it there unharmed.

Thanks for your help.

That turned out very nice! I really like your basketweave and the colours of your flowers are very stricking!
