Can you get true colors when coloring cream cheese icing? I am needing it to be as close to yellow as possible for a smiley face cake. But because of hte off white color, it turns out orange. Any suggestions?

I was just wondering if you are using the butter crisco? If so that might be the problem. I use Sweetex which is white, but have used the white crisco before with no problem getting yellow.

Some companies sell white food coloring. That may make the sourcream stay white enough for you to color it yellow. Sorry that I can't send you to a source, but a Google search may find one if no one on this site knows where to find it.

Here is first page of a Google search "food coloring white:"

Hope this helps you some. icon_smile.gif
