This is my very first "competition" cake. I have entered it into the county fair here. The judging is today, so send good cake luck my way if you have the time!
It is 4 tiers, 14, 10, 8 and 5. All fondant - bows and ribbons are 50/50. The broaches are gumpaste with isomalt jewels and dragees. I made each of the broaches different.

Stunning cake...beautifully done! Love the "mocha/cafe au lait colour, and your brooches are so pretty!
Good luck good luck good luck! Such a clean, neat line to your cake ... love the jewelry!
I just heard this cake won 3rd place - I actually entered 2 cakes - this one was by far my favorite, and I am happy it actually placed.
Now, the other cake I entered, which I personally was not happy with - took FIRST. I am going to make a post about the two of them so they are togther. I am so happy I won a first, but really surprised at which one won.
Thank you all for your good thoughts - they actually came through, just in mysterious ways!
Have to add...just went to look at "the one that won"...superb! Probably the gelatin bow convinced them...the whole cake is stunning, and perfect, with so little decoration, but the bow puts it over the top kind of, and makes me want to learn how to do that...
Stephanelli - it is on another post - here is the link:
