I have a request for a Dr Pepper can cake. How do I get that color? I am thinking starting with some marroon then maybe some red? Can anyone tell me what color combination they have used?

Thanks,
Cecilia

Even though my Dr. Pepper cake looked like crap, I at least got the color right! You are on the right track though. I started with the maroon and kept testing colors. Bit of black too. It's a hard color to do, but not too much red at it will brighten up the maroon. I also used brown in there.

Take a look at my guitar cake...That's the same color as the Dr. Pepper can...It was maroon, some blue...Make sure you let your icing set for a while as the colors (esp. reds!) tend to deepen as they set...

Thanks. Hopefully I can get a good resemblance to the color.
