I want to make some MMF 'things' on wires to go on the top of a cake.

After rolling & cutting the shape, is it better to immediately insert the wire into the shape or is it better to let the MMF harden some before inserting the wire ?

Insert the wire right after you make it, then let it dry in a way that doesn't put any weight at all on the wire, for a couple of days.

You can also add tylose to your MMF or use gumpaste, if you need it to dry sooner.
