I was looking over the Wilton PARTY size serving chart and it doesn't make any sense to me.

Here's the link:
http://www.wilton.com/cakes/making-cakes/baking-party-cake-2-inch-pans.cfm

The 6" Round and 6" Square have the same number of servings. So do the 8" Square and Rounds.

Then for 10" and 12" the Square has more servings (which seems to be the way it SHOULD be since you have those extra corners).

14" it's back to being the same number of servings for Square and Round, then 16" it's back to the square size having more!

What am I missing here? How does this make any sense? And does anyone have a link to a better serving chart online? I don't have Excel on my computer to open up the chart that's stickied in the Business forum, but I could probably find a way to access that if it is a good one!

Mathematically the chart is very off for all round pans, but appears to be reasonably accurate for square.

To open excel files, go to openoffice dot org. It is free software that will allow you to open all equivalent Microsoft products.
