Hey guys,

Really quick question, I am stacking a 4 tier fondant cake, I am going to travel with 3 of the tiers assembled and add the 4th tier on site.

My question is, after doweling the cake do you use anything between the tiers to 'glue' them together? I have looked through several how tos which havent helped. I know on ace of cake they put something between the tiers but cant work out if its buttercream or royal icing.

What would you suggest?

Thanks in Advance icon_smile.gif

I don't 'glue' my tiers together. I do dowel. I would think that they used royal icing.

I use buttercream but I'm sure the RI would work as well.

Would the BC break down the Fondant? May be okay if the BC is not going to be on their to long. Just a thought?

No, the BC won't break down the fondant. It never has for me. Remember, there is BC under the fondant as well.
