I 2nd that. If they don't need to stick straight out, you could also use black twizzler pull 'n peel

I take it that yall want the whiskers to stand out. The only thing I can think of at the moment is to take black fondant or gum paste, roll out to a nickel thickness and cut about the width and taper to the end of the whisker. I would cut the length to be at least twice what you would need to show and let dry for several days. After you decorate the cat and before you put in his whiskers use a metal kabob skewer to make the holes for the whiskers. Put a little icing in the holes and then insert the whiskers. They will be a little brittle but this should work.

As a cat person myself, I find it amusing that so many people want to make the whiskers black. Only one of my 5 cats has black whiskers. The rest are white or transparent. I suggest looking in the Asian noodle section of the grocery store (or an Asian grocery) for cellophane or mung bean noodles if you don't want black whiskers. icon_smile.gif
