Hi all, I am new to this and I want to make a 21st birthday cake with the 2 and the 1 standing up at the top of the cake, can anyone tell me what is the best material to use? and how to actually do it! lol, any responses will be greatly appreciated!! Thank you for reading xx

Hi there, I would make them with gumpaste. Make them and let them dry properly and I would a bit of royal icing to make it stand up! icon_smile.gif

I agree with bashini, however, if you are transporting the cake with the numbers on they will fall over with just royal icing to stick them to your cake. I always insert wires (or you can use toothpicks) into the gumpaste before it is dried and then once the numbers have dried insert them into the cake.

This is the 21st cake that I did

Or make them out of cookies on a stick.
That always gives me an excuse to make my family some sugar cookies too!
