My daughter is decorating a cake for a local contest. It will be judged on appearance and will not be eaten. How long before the contest could she get away with decorating the cake. The frosting will not contain any butter or milk.
Thanks-we're very new to this.

If it will not be eaten why uise actual cake? Use a dummy. Then she can do it whenever she likes. If she really wants to use cake then I would say probably a few days.
