I've never baked a 12 x 18 before and need to know how long to bake it. My WASC usually takes longer than a plain box mix. Also, will 2 flower nails be enough to insure it gets done in the middle? Any help and/or advice is greatly appreciated!!!

I bake 12x18 WASC all of the time and have never used a heat core. I get great results. My oven is on the hot side, but I usually cook mine for about 25 minutes. Not sure how much help I am, sorry!

Everything you need to know to make, decorate and assemble tiered/stacked/layer cakes:

The above superthread has a link to Wilton's cake making help which gives batter requirements by pan size as well as recommended baking temps. and time - and so much more.

A 12x18x2 layer will require 14 cups of batter and should bake for approximately 40-45 minutes at 325F. I've found that the WASC will bake for at least that long, if not slightly longer.
