hi everyone, im going to try and make some gumpaste this weekend, and i have noticed that all the recipies call for 10x powdered sugar, can i use regular powdered sugar from the bulk barn?? if not where would i be able to purchase it?? i live in Toronto btw, also does anyone one have any tried/tested good recipies for gumpaste??

I was just coming to ask this, I am new at this and have done everything in fondant up until now and was looking for a good recipe for gum paste. I would love to know as well!

As far as I know, yes the bulk one is the 10x powdered one. I've used it.

I'm in Canada too and have done this recipe just remember our sugar has something in it so don't use as much sugar has it says.....use about three quarter and slowly add until you get the gumpaste texture

thanks soo much seeshores!!! now another quick question, does bulk barn carry tylose??? also, whats the difference between powdered sugar and 10x sugar??? sorry im still very new at this!! TIA!!

I don't know if the barn carries tylose or not but I do know that you can get it at Golda's kitchen. You might want to try McCall's but I'm not sure if they carry it or not. Also if you can't get the tylose you can always get gum tex (Wilton makes it) or CMC powder or Gum Trag.

bulk barn does not carry tylose...but McCalls does....
