How do I make vertical lines all around the cake like it is shown on this 2 tier cake? I think there was a tutorial on how to make such lines....I think it was on a TT on flickr or something like that. Please help icon_sad.gif

looks to me like they used fondant and a clay gun/extruder to make the strings of fondant and then laid them on the cake. You can adhere with just a brushing of water.

Yes, the clay gun works for this BUT if you move them much after they dry they break and fall off pretty easy so it is best to apply them once the cake is where it is going to set and they are very easy to do.

It also looks to me that they used fondant. However, I want to know how to apply them even through out the cake?? My prob is that I think they will come out crooked and look uneven. I dont know if this makes sense

You could draw yourself light lines to follow on the cake....
