Hi everyone,

I know this might have been asked quite a few times, but i can't find any post. Until now i have been making WASC cakes and people love them. But I also want to know a good recipe for a moist yellow cake and a good chocolate cake. There are so many recipes on the forum and I can't decide which one would be the best. Can you guys share your favorite recipe?
TIA..

Here are two great threads with scratch yellow and chocolate taste tests! Or you can Search in the forums and use the search terms best chocolate recipe (search all words and search titles only) to find more threads thumbs_up.gif

yellow/white http://www.cakecentral.com/cake-decorating-ftopict-633981-.html

and here's a pair of just "scratch" recipe threads (no specific flavor)

Well in the last few pages of the two bake-offs, the results were "summed up" but I don't recall which page that was on - start at the last page and work backwards, it will be much quicker to get to the info you want!! It's very close to the end for chocolate but there were less people baking for that challenge, so the results are a bit less objective. The yellow scratch off has a spreadsheet showing results and comments and there is also a summary posted; I think the Syvlia Weinstock took first place, with Rebecca Rather in second and Magnolia Lemon (don't use the rind) in third.

But seriously, I do like to use the advanced search function for info like this i.e. info that has been told and retold a lot on CC. I actually choose all of these search terms
scratch chocolate recipe -or-
scratch yellow recipe
and limit it to "titles" and you get a lot of threads just like your post, where there are a lot less responses to sift thru than the bake-off threads icon_smile.gif. That's actually how I first came across the yellow recipe I myself use! Otherwise you are going to get 15 responses with 15 different recipe suggestions and you'll be right back where you started LOL.

Go to that purple bar up above where it says CakeCentral.com Forum in big pink letters. Written in small white lettering are the following words:
| search | buddy list | ignore list | watched topics | member list | calendar

That one on the left is the search function to use! Has a few nice features to narrow down searches thumbs_up.gif
