Hi - I have been having trouble with my fondant. Every time I try to cover a 2 layered cake but the next morning the top has slid to the side and it luuks lumpy. I use wiltons buttercream recipe. Do you think i should try something else? Do you know why this would be happening? I appreciate any feedback. Thank you! Katie
It sounds like the fondant may be too heavy for the cake. Are you covering a light, delicate cake? If so, you may consider switching to something more dense. Or, you just may need to roll your fondant thinner.
As well, be sure you are using a small amount of frosting. Fondant tends to slide if you have too much frosting under it.
Are you letting the cake settle before you put the fondant on?
