HI, I made a perfect buttercream icing last night from a recipe on this site. The finished product is fluffy, and thick and perfect...except that it is waaayyyyy to sweet? How do I bring the sweetness down a notch?

Thanks!!

Lemon juice, flavor, extract?

A little salt if it's not a meringue based buttercream?

Next time make it with buttermilk?

Not so sweet ideas for you.

Thank you! The recipe calls for 3 tbl of vanilla exract but I only put 2... Lemon juice had crossed my mind as well. Thanks again!
