I need to make a gumpaste plaque to use on Friday. I just decided to make it tonight. I have some Bakels gumpaste - but have found that it doesn't dry very fast at all. I have never made gumpaste - Is there a recipe that someone could share that would dry quickly for me?

Thanks for your reply - I notice that this makes a large batch - I am not sure if I have enough tylose. Do you think it is ok to cut down the recipe?

You can add some tylose to any gumpaste you already have , just knead some in and it will dry faster.

thank you so much - I would really like to use my bakels - glad to know I can add tylose to that. The last time I used Bakels - the think panels didn't dry in 3 days!

Tylose does work good as well. Yes, you can cut down Nick Lodges recipe if you would like. If adding the Tylose to what you already have doesn't work, give it a try. Good luck!
