How can painted fondant pieces be preserved? I made a Bratz figure for my granddaughter's birthday cake and she would like to keep it as a souvenir. It's just plain fondant, hand painted with gel color and vodka - it has completely dried but I don't know how to keep it from turning to sugar and crumbling! Any suggestions?
Thanks!

Just keep it away from dust and humidity and it should be fine. Don't put it in an airtight container or it might soften up.

Ditto everything costumeczar said. Also, keep it away from direct sunlight. An acrylic keepsake display box works great.
