What is better for decorating your cake and making 3D figurines? Fondant, sugar paste, gum paste, molding chocolate, etc.? If you know what's better, will you tell me why? Thanks so much for your help!!

fondant and sugarpaste are the same thing.
it often comes down to personal preferance, and what the project is. as you work with different icings, you will learn when to use each one.
something very detailed is better done in gumpaste, because it dries harder and faster. so you can complete project in less time. if you are making flowers, gumpaste is much more realistic looking too. gumpaste is edible, but not very pleasant as its so hard.
a lot of people like a 50/50 mix of gumpaste and fondant, as it still dries strongly, but you get more time to work it because of the fondant.
if your cake is chocolate, using some kind of chocolate paste is a good idea so that the tastes match.
