Hi all does anyone know of a bakery supply store in or around Chicago (preferably south of the city) where I can get hi ratio shortening (the shipping cost is killing me icon_cry.gif ). I've tried Michaels, HL, GFS, Sams and Costco and they don't carry any brand of it , TIA. icon_biggrin.gif

When I first went to GFS, the staff couldn't locate Sweetex or hi-ratio in the computer so I was told it was not available. (Might be listed as "cake and icing shortening".)

However, puzzlegut was kind enough to provide the Sweetex product number, 1080220 (from her GFS order) - and with that info my GFS was able to order it for me.
