I made this cake for my son's first birthday last weekend. A friend of a friend on Facebook has asked me how much I'd charge to make the same cake for her child. I have no idea what to tell her (frankly, I'm not sure I want to do all that work again!).

The box is made of 3 layers of 8 in squares. It's covered in fondant. The lid is gumpaste as are all 60 loops of bows. The bear's body was made in a pyrex bowl (probably 12-15 servings). The head and limbs are RKT. The board is covered in fondant. Thanks in advance.

let the bidding begin at $300

(approx 60 servings x $5/serving)

that a heck of a lot of detail.

could justify at least $50 more just for the bow!

I think any time you aren't sure you want to do a cake you should price it way higher that normal, that way either they will say never mind, or they will pay the high price and you wont be up @ 2am cussing yourself for taking the cake, the money will keep your mouth shut. LOL

LOL! I think you're right. THe $300 should set her off anyway. Is that what everyone else would charge?

I agree with Doug, my price would be $4.75 per serving and $10 for the bow
