There is another thread about this somewhere. If I remember correctly some of the ladies rub crisco into the fondant and some of them put some on a paper towel and wipe it off gently with that.

I get a very soft bristled paint brush that I only use for my cakes and wet it with water and then dry it until it is only just damp. Then I dust the cake with that. It does leave a shine on the fondant. But it only takes a few minutes to dry and lose the shine.

The crisco method apparently leaves a shine also but they said this goes away by absorbing into the fondant.
