I don't have grey coloring so what can I mix to make grey. I tried black but it just makes purple! Can i add something to the black?

What kind of black are you using? And how old is it? Black coloring does have a lot of purple in it, so something may have happened to your product.

Are you trying to color buttercream? fondant? chocolate? This would be good info.

Try this ---- color a small amount of whatever-you're-coloring (bc, fondant, etc.) dark black. Then, mix a tiny amount of the black whatever-you're-coloring into the white. See if you get grey.
