I am new to using fondant and my husband wants a jeep cake for his birthday. Can you color fondant or do you have to buy it in the colors it comes in? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks icon_smile.gif

You can color it, I like Americolor coloring because it doesn't take as much. But keep in mind for dark colors it will take alot of coloring and sometimes changes the texture of the fondant. I usually end up adding a little more powdered sugar or cornstarch to firm it back up. Just do a little at a time on both till you get it the way you want it.

Yes you can color it. You have to use gel colors.

I use the Wilton gel colors and they work very nice icon_smile.gif But like Shelly4481 said, have some powdered sugar on hand to firm it up just incase.
